A case of compound dorsal dislocation of four metacarpophalaugeal joints is presented. The use of early joint motion and extension block splinting resulted in an excellent range of motion in this uncommon injury. In the past 100 years, the problem of complex dorsal dislocations of the metacarpophalangeal joint has been addressed by many authors beginning with Polaillon (1884) There are over 100 reported cases with the vast majority involving the index digit (Adler, 1981
