A pressure-vacuum infi ltration (T = 720 ºC, p = 15 MPa, t = 15 min) and gas-pressure infi ltration (GPI) in an autoclave (T = 700ºC, p=4 MPa, t=5 min) were applied for infi ltration of porous Al2O3 ceramics by cast aluminum alloy. Eff ect of the method of the infi ltration on the microstructure and mechanical properties of ceramic-metal composites, was studied. Ceramic preforms were formed by method of copying the cellular structure of the polymer matrix. The re-sults of the X-ray tomography proved very good infi ltration of the pores by the metal for each method. Key words: porous ceramics, cast aluminum alloy, composite, pressure infi ltratio
