A study is underway to identify and compare the perceptions on skills/capability required by IS/IT graduates in Papua New Guinea. Preliminary results indicate that non-technical skills such as communication and teamwork are considered important compared to technical IS job skills such as programming. The results suggest a need for a more proactive strategy to transfer skills and knowledge, and a collaborative approach between industry and educators for the placement and content of curriculum and teaching activities
