To investigate an association of gestational weight gain (GWG) and prepregnancy body mass index (BMI) with perinatal outcomes. Methods The sample included 3,428 Korean patients who had uncomplicated singleton term pregnancy from 2001 to 2009. The patients were categorized into four groups according to prepregnancy BMI; underweight (< 18.5 kg/m2), normal weight (18.5-22.9 kg/m2), overweight (23.0-24.9 kg/m2) and obese ( ≥ 25.0 kg/m2) and were also categorized into four groups according to the 25th, 50th, 75th percentile of GWG.
