Bio: Emlynn Chazhikat is a junior pre-medical student majoring in Speech Pathology and Audiology with a double minor in Psychology and Medical Anthropology at the University of North Texas. She interested in global health and osteopathic medicine. She volunteered as a global impact fellow through Unite for Sight in July 2011. Aphasia is a language disorder resulting from brain damage. People who acquire aphasia need rehabilitation to maximize functional recovery. Assessing public awareness of aphasia is critical for development of and access to aphasia-related services.
