Conditions for plant regeneration of leaf explant from Bulgarian spray carnation cultivars (Fea and Rossitza) were established. Solid MS medium supplemented with BAP and NAA was used for direct induction of adventitious shoots. The optimal medium for regeneration for both cultivars contained 0.9 mg/l BAP and 0.9 mg/l NAA. The mean number of regene-rants per explant varied 7-8 for tested cvs. Regenerated plants possessed normal pheno-type. At dark and light conditions induction of embryogenic callus were observed for both cultivars. Vigor somatic embryos were obtained on embryo formation medium supple-mented with 0.05 mg/l BAP and 250 mg/l casein hydrolysate.
