Zinc coatings prepared from acidic and alkaline commercial electrolytes and electrolytes without additives by direct current and pulse current electrodeposition were studied. Morphology of the formed coatings was analysed by SEM and corrosion properties of the samples by potentiodynamic polarization in a medium containing chloride ions. It was found out that coatings from acidic electrolytes and deposited by direct current and periodic reverse current at frequency of 50Hz provide comparable corrosion properties
