Since, the independence, India has made significant progress in various sectors of Rural Development but our Government was striving to bring about the sustainable development and socio-economic transformation in rural India with an integrated approach towards improving the quality of life of rural indigent, ensuring equity and effectiveness of Peoples ’ participation due to:-‘Top- Down ’ model of planning Non cooperation among Government, Panchayat and local people. Lack of information among common people due to poor political knowledge and meager delivery system of Government. The basic objective of Panchayati Raj is to evolve a system of ‘Democratic Decentralization ’ and ‘Devolution of Power ’ with a view for ensuring rapid socio-economic progress. Present researcher put his emphasis for holistic development of rural areas through strengthening the ‘local Self Government ’ for making developmental plans and implement it in grass root level with the effective participation of local people. So, Peoples ’ Participation in Panchayat ensures the proper utilization of their resources and help to achieve it in optimal level.
