Abstract We study the influence of the nonlinearity in the Schrödinger equation on the motion of quantum particles in a harmonic trap. In order to obtain exact analytic solutions, we have chosen the logarithmic non-linearity. The unexpected result of our study is the existence in the presence of nonlinearity of two or even three coexisting Gaussian solu-tions
