Results of a phase shift analysis of the p-p scattering data at 1.4 GeV are reported. The proposed scheme of analysis is slightly modified by adding effects of the double-pion production on the outer absorptions. By following this modified scheme, two solutions of the peripheral absorption type are obtained. Both solutions are consistent with the picture on two-nucleon interactions as derived from the lower energy data. The two solutions are somewhat different from each other in their singlet real and triplet P real phases. The difference is mostly reduced if the rotation parameter R is measured at large scattering angles
