This article summarizes the findings of a study regarding the Hylastes ater population from the Clabucet mountain area. The study was performed during 2008 and 2009 encompassing two spruce plantations and it has allowed the comparison between different sample targets. Within the two plantations various samples were taken from: areas which were sprayed with insecticide, areas where there were no sprayings and areas where the saplings were bathed in insecticide before being planted. The obtained data give supplementary elucidations regarding the combat, prevention, life cycle and the numeric evolution of the Hylastes ater population from the Clabucet area
