TEACHING ENGLISH TO STUDENTS WITH ATTENTION

2 Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been extensively studied, yet teachers ’ lack of knowledge in the subject may often impede the progress of ADHD students at school. Different symptoms of ADHD may cause these students to experience difficulties in learning English, and these obstacles also hinder progress in other subjects as well. In order to successfully teach English to students with the characteristics of ADHD, several aspects need to be considered. The aim of the thesis is to learn how English is taught to ADHD students in Estonia. Based on secondary sources, an overview is given of the most common symptoms of ADHD, behavioural peculiarities of ADHD students, and aspects of teaching children with impairments associated with ADHD.
