OBJECTIVES: Treatment patterns and outcomes in a population-based database were examined to identify patients likely to benefit from surgical resection of locally advanced (T3N0–2) non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). METHODS: Factors predicting the use of surgery for patients with T3N0–2M0 NSCLC in the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database from 1988 to 2010 were assessed using a multivariable logistic regression model.
