Ectopic Lacrimal Gland Tissue in the Globe of a Cow

Ectopic lacrimal gland tissue within the eye is rare in man and animals; eight cases have been described in man ’. ’ and one in an animal. ’ The clinical history and the pathomor-phological findings in a five-year-old cow with ectopic l a d mal gland tissue in the eye are described. A five-year-old female dairy cow was presented with blepharospasm of the right eye, which had been present for one month and worsened during the week before presentation, despite local atropine and chloramphenicol treatment (GloveticolR, Gist-Brocades nv Delftpederland).
