The purpose of this study was to determine roles and responsibilities of female presidents of higher educational institutions, how they celebrate their professional and personal accomplishments, and their post-presidency aspirations. Females in their first presidency positions in either a private or public four-year institution were interviewed for the study. The collective case study tradition was used to capture thick, rich descriptions of eight cases. Within-case analyses were conducted for each participant, followed by a cross-case analysis, with major themes emerging. Nine themes emerged based on the research findings.
