On the Application of the Veneziano Amplitude to Electromagnetic Mass Differences of 1C and K Mesons

Applying the leading Veneziano amplitude to np-"rtjw8, the product of the coupling constants GA21171'GA2pms is expressed by 4G11ppGmsp7r · Using this result, the Veneziano amplitudes of np-'?np and Kp-'?Kw8 are applied to the calculation of electromagnetic mass difference of nand K mesons under the assumption of the field current identity, SU(3) symmetry, and gauge invariance. The results are quite excellent, namely Llm7r=7.5 MeV and Llmx =-5.5 MeV. Llmx can be made negative by a term corresponding to tadpole diagram exchanging A2 me-son. In terms of the Veneziano model and field algebra, the whole integral is convergent, that is, the high energy behavior is milder by s-2 than Harari's argument. Further we de-termine the coupling constants G"'P"'"""'24 MeV-1 and the strengths G8 =3.1 and o=Gs/Gn= 0.42 of A 1-'?pn decay by assuming rpn=(5/7)m7r. This gives FA1pn-"""'85MeV.
