This document focuses entirely on pregnancy prevention and young males. It begins with a brief review of current literature on male involvement from which many of the findings and program ideas reported in the document were compiled. A short essay on the self-reported life experiences of adolescent males is followed with statistical data on the social and economic status of adolescents in the United States. The research on the determinants of adolescent pregnancy (initiation of sexual activity, use of contraception, attitudes toward pregnancy, the experience of fatherhood) is.eviewed from the point of view of understanding adolescent male roles.
