VISUALIZATION IN THE ANALYSIS OF GENE EXPRESSION DATA: A SURVEY

Scientific visualization has proved to be highly ef-fective in data mining applications. It is widely used in different scientific areas including biology and medi-cine. Recent progress in genetics, molecular biology and chemistry has made it possible for simultaneous registration of almost the whole genome. Visualization complements and extend the capability of knowledge and data mining for gene expression data. Unfortunately existing methods of analysis do not completely use the full range of scientific computer graphics techniques. This paper provides a review of methods and tools for scientific visualization along with techniques for exploratory analysis of the gene expression data
