Implications of New Technology in Providing Training

A survey of high school journalism teachers attending the Florida Scholastic Press Association convention found that 75 % had access to the Internet at home and 56 % had access to the Internet at school. Surveys and cover letters were distributed to the 120 advisers attending the 1997 convention; 39 advisers completed the survey for a response rate of 32%. More than half of the respondents said they would take courses for certification or recertification credit if offered via distance learning.
