SOBIESKI PALACE IN LUBLIN AFTER THE ASSESSMENT OF THE EXISTING CONDITION. RESTORATION AND

situated in Bernardyńska Street in Lublin, has a checkered history – it was, among others, mentioned in the vetting in 1661; then it was the Sobieski family's property for about 100 years. In the subsequent periods, its owners changed several times, and the object itself was repeatedly rebuilt. Since 1959, it has been used by the Technical University of Lublin. Because of the alarming state of the palace buildings – after carrying out the necessary research and expertise- a multi-disciplinary restoration and modernisation project has been elaborated, together with the proposition for the EU financed grant from the Operational Program “Development of Eastern Poland”. The paper presents the analysis of the existing state of the palace, and also the modernisation project.
