The hybrid sulfur process has been investigated as a means to produce clean hydrogen from renewable sources. A gas-phase electrolyzer has been developed in which SO2 is fed to the anode and oxidized in the presence of water to from H2SO4 with the co-production of H2 at the cathode. We have demonstrated successful operation of this electrolyzer, and have investigated the effects of water management on electrolyzer performance. Here, we extend our investigation of water management to its effect of SO2 crossover
