Students: Issues for Secondary

School administrators face many issues in dealing with gifted high school students. Among them are providing classes and academic expe-riences that are sufficiently challenging to keep students engaged and working in their field. Two aspects of this issue are explored here: using out-of-school resources to develop academic talent to a high level, and creating conditions within the school classroom to support talented students. ithin the fields of music, dance, and the arts, it has long been ~~J~ ~ recognized by parents and counselors that public schools (withw V V the exception of performing arts schools) cannot provide all the needed experiences and training that students need to develop a high level of talent.
