When reflecting upon research it may be disheartening to realise that a lifetime’s work for one individual may only answer a small question, about a single phenomenon, in a small part of a single discipline. In Cognitive Science, José Luis Bermúdez undertakes the admirable task of presenting a unified theoretical account of the broad field of cognitive science. In bringing together research and theoretical insight from across the domains of psychology, computer science, philosophy, linguistics and neuroscience, he presents a compelling and accessible account of this exciting area
