The effect of aldosterone, cortisol and corticosterone upon the sodium and potassium content of sheep's parotid

Aldosterone, cortisol and corticosterone were measured in the peripheral blood of wombats and kangaroos from two areas of south east Australia. Increased blood levels of aldosterone were found in animals of both species from an area low in dietary sodium. Cortisol concentrations ranged from 0\m=.\08 to 0\m=.\83\g=m\g./100ml. blood in the wombat and from 0\m=.\60to 4\m=.\20\g=m\g./100ml. blood in the kangaroo. Corticosterone concentrations ranged from 0\m=.\02to 0\m=.\42\g=m\g./100ml. blood in the wombat and from 0\m=.\07to 0\m=.\38\g=m\g./100ml. blood in the kangaroo
