O-047 Psychological stress in women who have conceived pregnancies via in-vitro fertilization

The use of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) increases every year, as does the resulting number of births. It is well substantiated that the process of infertility and IVF is stressful for both the woman and her partner. Research has examined psychological stress during the process of IVF, the effect stress has on IVF outcome, and examin-ationofvarious interventions todecrease theamountof experiencedstressduring the IVF process. Additionally, both psychological and physiological stress indices have been investigated in the population of patients undergoing IVF, and various compo-nents of the overall construct of stress have been evaluated in this population, includ-ing life event stress, perceived stress, anxiety, depression, and worry. Once a patient achieves a pregnancy, though, there is less data about whether the stress they experiencedduring the IVFprocess carries into the resulting pregnancies.
