resulted from an initiative designed to transform nursing in light of the challenges presented by the Affordable Care Act of 2010, which is bringing broad change to health care in the United States. There were four key recommendations emer-ging from the work. Nurses should practice to the full extent of their educa-tion and training. Nurses should achieve higher levels of education and training through an improved education system that pro-motes seamless academic profession. Nurses should be full partners, with physicians and other health care professionals, in redesigning health care in the United States. Effective workforce planning and policy making require better data collection and information infrastructure
