Synthesis and Redox Property of Heterometallic (dppf)M(C8H4S8) and (dppf)M(C6S8)M(dppf) (M = Pd and Pt, dppf = 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene)

TTF (tetrathiafulvalene: C6H4S4)1 has been developed as a strong electron donor in the research area of organic conductor and utilized as a building block for molecular switch, molecular magnet and supramolecular system.2 Electrochemically, it shows two reversible redox peaks corresponding to TTF0/·+ and TTF·+/+2 processes which can be tuned by the linkage of various functional moieties. C8H4S83-5 is one of the versatile dithiolate-ligand derived from TTF.
