This paper reports in vitro clonal propagation of Clematis x jackmanii. Explant material was axillary buds from one year old branches collected from mature plants in the field in March or July. Three basal media were compared: MS (Murashige and Skoog, 1962, LF (Lee Fossard), 1972, QL (Quoirin and Lepoivre, 1977) containing GA3 (0.1g l-1) and IBA (0.01g l-1) during initiation and GA3 (0.1mg l-1), BA (1.0mg l-1) and NAA (0.2mg l-1) during multiplication, (2, 3, 4). The regeneration ability of axillary buds explants ( % of regenerated explants) was recorded 30 days after the culture initiation.
