1. Goals of the project. The goal of this project is to study the estimation and control of elastic systems composed of beams and plates in order to develop efficient and accurate estimation and c'.itrol algorithms. JWe have made good progress toward this goal over the last year and a half having obtained results for the estimation in static beams and plates, control and location of actuators for static beams and plates, and identtfgability for discrete approximations of second order elliptic boundary value problems.
