This paper presents a solution to the power flow analysis and determination of losses in a power system network using Newton-Raphson method. The power flow analysis is the most important and vital part of any power system problem. The power flow study is required for planning, operation and control of existing system as well as for planning of future extension. Infact, it can be said as the pulse of the system which determine the characteristics of power system under steady state operating mode by providing us the magnitude and phase angle of voltage at each bus and the real and reactive power flowing in each transmission lines of bus networks.
