Three dimensional (3D) television (TV) is an emerging technology that has not yet been evaluated for its effects on depth perception. Further, due to its importance in physical performance as well as academic performance it is imperative to do so. This study looks to evaluate the effects of 3D displays on depth perception. In order to do this, two distinct methods were used. The first uses a traditional method of measuring depth perception, the Randot Sterotest. The second method uses two practical depth perception tests. The Randot Sterotest showed significant degradation (P = 0.0071) as did one of the practical tests (P = 0.032).
