viewed the world literature on sarcomas ofbone associated with therapeutic radiation and analyzed twenty-eight cases. Chondrosarcoma was the most common histologi-cal type he found. Since 1948, 168 cases of irradiation-induced sarcoma in bone have been reported. We found that only 9 per cent of these were classified as chondrosar-coma. The patient whose case is reported here stimulated us to revise Hatcher’s study of the incidence of chon-drosarcoma. Case Report In 1950, a forty-four-year-old woman underwent treatment for car-cinoma of the left breast. Treatment consisted of left radical mastectomy followed hs orthovoltage radiation therapy (approximately 8,000 rads) to the left supraclavicular area and axilla. At that time, a roentgenogram of the scapula showed no abnormality in the bone. Over the ensuin
