Interest in broadband wireless access (BWA) has been rising due to augmented user mobility and the requirement for data access at all times. The best available quality of experience is promised by IEEE 802.16 based WiMAX networks. For guaranteed services for voice, video and data, WiMAX networks include numerous quality of service (QoS) mechanisms at the Media Access Control (MAC) level.
