Ideas from Khare’s and Wintenberger’s article on the proof of Serre’s conjecture for odd con-ductors are used to establish that for a fixed prime l infinitely many of the groups PSL2(Flr) (for r running) occur as Galois groups over the rationals such that the corresponding number fields are unramified outside a set consisting of l, the infinite place and only one other prime.
In this thesis we examine the proof of a theorem due to Scholz and Reichardt in 1937. It states that...
AbstractThis paper gives some restrictions on finite groups that can occur as Galois groups of exten...
AbstractIn Galois’ last letter he found the values of the primes p for which the group PSL(2,p) acts...

AbstractWe give an algorithm for the determination of the finitely many primes such that the image o...
Let p be a fixed prime number. It has been known for a long time that there are only finitely many G...
Abstract. We construct Galois covers Xr,k(N) over P1/Fq(T) with Galois groups close to GL(r,Fq[T]/(N...
This thesis focuses on a refinement of the inverse Galois problem. We explore what finite groups app...

In this article new cases of the inverse Galois problem are established. The main result is that for...
The inverse Galois problem asks whether every finite group G occurs as a Galois group over the field...
