threshold technique An experimental test cell was designed to study immiscible displacement in porous media at the laboratory scale. Multiphase, immiscible, low Re flow through a simulated porous media was studied. The test cell has a lattice type pattern of pore bodies interconnected by angular capillary throats of various in sizes. The flow loop uses two working fluids, aqueous sodium iodide solution, the defending fluid and air, the invading fluid. An index of refraction matching technique is used to reveal the interfacial boundary between the defending and invading fluids.
