The Relationship between Religious Commitment and Premarital Sexual Permissiveness: A Five Dimensional Analysis

A study was made of the relationshŸ between religious commitment and attitudes toward premarital sexual permissiveness. Using a sample of 187 college students, five dimensŸ of religious commitment were measured by the Likert technique and tested for signi[icance of relation-ship to aCtitudes toward premarital sexual permissiveness. Ir was hy-pothesized that the composite measure of religious commitment and each of the tire sub-scales of religious commitment would be inversely related to attitudes toward premarital sexual permissiveness.
