Revisiting the Journal of Management Education’s Vision and Editorial Mission in a Time of Transformation

I deeply appreciate the honor bestowed in reappointing me as Editor of the Journal of Management Education (JME). During the past 4 years, I have enjoyed guiding the journal in its mission of exploring creative solutions to contemporary issues in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) in management. I look forward to continuing as Editor for an additional 3-year term beginning June 2009 and humbly thank the Board of the OBTS Teaching Society of Management Educators for this reappointment. Looking back over the past 4 years, a few achievements stand out. The Journal has provided its ever-growing, worldwide constituency of readers with a wide variety of articles both online and in print; maintained a steady acceptance rate of 15 % per year; enjoyed an increased level of visibility at academic conferences with a concomitant increase in submissions; and benefited from a new, user-friendly Web-based submission and review process. Reflecting on journal contents, I am particularly proud of the journal’s recent special issues devoted to specific topics of curriculum.
