Pluralism and Christianity in Recent Drama of

Abstract 1 Generally speaking, Christianity cannot be said to be a system or institutionalised religion, rather, it is the revelation of God in Jesus and the invitation of the gospel. Although, what we believed came from what we have learned from others consciously or unconsciously in the course of history. Thus, in most cases our beliefs always lead us to certain actions in one way or the other. For instance, Christians believe that their own religion is the only religion on earth that can save people. Hence, the admonition that people must come to the knowledge of God through Jesus Christ. Consequently, different methods have been employed to propagate this mandate viz-a-viz the great commission in order to bring the generality of the people to the knowledge of the gospel and possibly convert them. One method used to actualise this, is the instrumentality of the Christian Drama through Home Video films. The extent to which Christianity had held on to this exclusivist claim in spite of the consciousness of other religions is our focus in this paper. To this end, the work aims at articulating the term- Christian faith and the doctrine of salvation in Christianity in a pluralistic society like Yoruba land and how adherents have used Home Video Christian films to proclaim the gospel in Yoruba Nollywood
