Mycobacteriummassiliense is a rapidly growing bacteriumassociatedwith opportunistic infections. The genomeof a representative isolate (strainGO06) recovered fromwound samples frompatientswhounderwent arthroscopic or laparoscopic surgerywas se-quenced. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first announcement of the complete genome sequence of anM.massiliense strain. Rapidly growing mycobacteria (RGM) have important impli-cations in human diseases, as they are frequently associated with infections among immunocompromised patients, as well as wound, skin, and soft tissue infections (9).
