Textiles exhibit nonlinear behavior when exposed to mechan-ical loading. Namely in tension, in the beginning resistance to stretching is lower and with growing elongation it increases. This type of nonlinearity can quite clearly be attributed to low bending stiffness and higher axial stiff-ness of the yarns, since in the initial stage of deformation bending, or more precisely straightening of the yarn is pre-dominant, and after the straightening is more or less done the extension of the yarn takes over the main role.
