This condition, also called ‘‘split-foot deformity,’ ’ is most commonly inherited through an autosomal dominant pattern, but can also occur through anticipation (i.e., genetic disorders in which individuals in successive generations present at an ear-lier age and/or with more severe manifestations) and as autoso-mal recessive and X-linked forms1.
