Shrinking training budgets pose a serious problem to those confronted with the present and future challenge of providing competent Air Force technicians for increasingly technical positions in a modern Air Force. One promising solution to this problem has been to harness the capabilities of the computer as an instructional training device. To be cost-effective, computer-based instruction must maximize individual student attainment of training objectives, while simultaneously minimizing training time and costs.
