Studies show that MDD patients show a stronger reaction to performance related feedback compared to healthy controls. We wanted to know if this reaction was also present when patients are confronted with social feedback. In this EEG study, we compared an MDD group to a control group. Participants sent a picture and were told that this picture was going to be evaluated. Before this evaluation was shown, participants were asked about their expectation. We focused on behavioral changes and P3. We found that MDD patients did not differ in expectation and behavioral changes compared to healthy controls. Expected negative feedback elicited the largest P3. MDD patients showed an insensitivity to social feedback compared to healthy controls
