The influence of the organic additive- glycine on copper anodic behavior in alkaline mediums has been investigated. It was established, that under 1×10-4 to 1×10-1 M concentration this amino acid stimulates copper anodic processes and causes local metal activation. The obtained experimental data was interpretated according to peculiarities of the copper passive state and metal complexation processes with amino acid anion. The results suggest that glycine undergoes oxidation under 0.80V
