This research effort was conducted by the Navy to address the issue of military burials that are not documented as having been removed from the Naval Hospital Cemetery during the 1926 disinterment action. During the Navy's research on the cemetery, discrepancies regarding the number of burials and disinterments at the cemetery, as well as missing, incomplete, and contradictory information, were frequently encountered.
