dissolution of the Bi2Ru207 electrode, the high activity is encouraging, part icular ly since no attempt was made to optimize mechanical and chemical characteristics of the electrode, as done by other investigators (2). In summary, we have prepared bismuth ruthenate electrodes by rf sputter ing direct ly onto heated Ti substrates. These electrodes showed high electro-catalytic act ivity for C12 evolution. Fur ther studies are required to determine whether these electrodes could be improved by chemical or other modifications. Acknowledgments The authors thank A.
