Abstract- A Ku-band altimeter has been designed and is currently being constructed. Tower and airplane mea-surements will be taken from the system. The data from this instrument will be used for improvement in electro-magnetic(EM) bias estimation. This paper presents a de-scription of the hardware for the altimeter and the exper-iment to be performed. This instrument will be used in an experiment in support of the upcoming NASA/CNES JASON-I mission
