The peroxidase isoenzyme banding pattern of 15 Ken-tucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) cultivars was investi-gated for use in identification. Isoenzymes were separated by polvacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis, stained with benzidine-H,O " and the relative intensilies of the bands evaluated with a densitometer. Cultivar separations were made on sin~le seedling samples at the 1 ~ level of confi-dence using band number, mobility, and intensitv rarios. Overall variability of the procedure was emluated using a horeradish peroxidase standard and the effects of seed-ling age and seedlot determined.
