Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder whose neurobiol-ogy is not clearly known. Autism is one of the autism spec-trum disorders (ASD), including the Asperger’s disorder, Rett’s disorder, childhood disintegrative disorder, and per-vasive developmental disorder–not otherwise specified.
