Two STUDIES, previously reported, dealt with differing patterns and rates of offences between coloured, half-coloured and white children and adults. ’ This final paper examines some characteristics of boys admitted to a Classifying (Assessment) School. Apart from one author2 who examined the family variables of boys in an Assessment School the only studies which examined aspects of Classifying (Assessment) Schools were not specifically concerned with colour.3 3 The Assessment School concerned kept detailed records of all the boys on tabulated cards and permission was granted to consult records.
